Havin' A GREAT Weekend!

Saturday dawned bright and sunny and mild and I headed to our local garden center for boughs and berries to pretty up our front porch (what do you think of our PINK front door ~ my husband takes a fair bit of ribbing over that door from all his manly friends and just about anyone who sees it, really...poor guy). I've been on the hunt for snowberries this time every year for the past few and I hit the jackpot yesterday ~ bunches and bunches available for the taking (well...buying).
I even had my hubby out helping with the Christmas lights with just a minimum of grumbling ("This is what you consider quality together time????" - direct quote)...anyhow...I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours of arranging, bow-tying(?), and lighting the place up in order to attract as much holiday attention as possible. Here are a few photos...

and, on a couple of happy Etsy notes, my beaded star ornament is featured in Friday Finds, Thoughtful Gifts Under $50 - THANKS and whooohooo! It brought enough shoppers to reach my 500th sale!!!! Yay! Thanks so much everyone!

A Vintage ~ Mod Christmas

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree...
I must say, this little tinsel tree from the 60's has sparked my decorating juices for the holiday season! It's shimmery silver branches sent me on a hunt for vintage ornaments that would feed it's sparkly little spirit (and mine as well!) ...and there is a treasure trove to be found in some of my favorite vintage Etsy shops!
Be sure to check out these great shops and all their treasures this holiday season!
(ps...click on my little tree to link to the treasury it also inspired...Mod Xmas!)

Christmas at The Market

We have a wonderful old building in my hometown that is the venue for a handicrafts/farmer's market on Saturday mornings throughout the year. Almost everyone who visits Fredericton makes a visit to the Market while they're in town - it's a real event every week! Christmas at The Market is a local tradition that handmade enthusiasts anticipate every year. For many years, I was a shopper and brought home bags of unique treasures for gifts and holiday decoration (just count my snowmen!). I've been participating as a vendor for about 5 seasons now and just finished up this year's show last night. It was GREAT! There were tons of people in happy holiday humor! Many thanks to all who dropped by the booth to chat, giggle and take home a colorful, sparkly creation! And, just because, you know, I have nothing else to do, I changed my entire display for this show...I found this fabulous vintage silver tinsel Christmas tree and got all inspired! Here are some photos of my little spot..

Is this the funkiest little tree?

holiday earrings

The Christmas music has been playing at my house for over a week now (I know...I'll be good and tired of it before the end of November, but I just can't resist right after Halloween!). Anyway, the notes of Frosted Window Panes and Silent Night to name just a couple, have sparked my holiday mood and inspired some new earrings! Drop by the shop to check out these and more ~ Enjoy!

olive branch... all sixteen

I always wish you could see all sixteen...
November 1st feels like a clean slate to me, a short breather between Halloween and the upcoming holidays. This treasury is inspired by this space, the bare branches and uncluttered November landscape, my thankfulness for peace and the days of remembrance for those who fought for it. Peace to you...
