A few years ago, a naughty, adventurous and fun-loving garden fairy took up residence in my garden at the cottage and began corresponding with my four-year-old niece. Esmerelda has required a number of special tools each summer, magic wands being one such item essential for a proper fairy. A hunt for sticks with magical qualities ensued, and in the dark of night, wand creation began...in many sizes, shapes and colors...A miniature (when it's inconvenient to carry your larger one!) magic wand created as a pin...handsculpted wire beaded flowers and colorful, textured yarn fibres combine in this design. Each wand pin is mounted on a watercolor backgound complete with a phrase that will 'activate the magic'. Be careful where you point it!
