Winter Solstice
~Percy Bysshe Shelley
There are many people who love winter - but I am not one of them! At first, I appreciate the silence, the magic of the first snowfall, the clean white landscape, the cosiness of a warm fire...but before long, by late November and December especially, as I watch the sun rise later and set earlier and feel the early darkness and the cold - by 5pm, I want a quilt and a puffy pillow and a nap. It seems the day is over and I haven't eaten dinner yet!
And then, the winter solstice arrives - and with it, the knowing that nature has swung around that darkest corner and the light of SPRING is a beacon once again. Yes!

New at Wild Woman Jewelry!
The Christmas rush seems to have slowed down resulting in time to create a few new designs and new editions of a few older ones! Even before the holidays are over, my thoughts turn to lighter colors and dare I say it, SPRING! The light was perfect and sent me rushing for my camera ~ what a FUN morning! Enjoy!

Sin City Here We Come!
Viva Las Vegas!
~the lights, the action, the SPECTACLE!!!
We're heading west tomorrow for a few days in Sin City - my husband has a conference to attend and I'm tagging along for a little holiday, a couple of shows and a shopping expedition! Just a few details to take care of today - shovel the driveway (yup, it snowed last night), pack, prep and mail orders, brunch with my husband's family, a tree lighting celebration at our cottage later this afternoon...details, details...see ya soon!
