Wednesday Wonders (on Thursday!) ~ Team Etsy Project Embrace

Etsy Project Embrace ~ a team of etsy artists and shop owners who have joined together to raise funds for cancer research...each member of our team is donating all or part of the proceeds from the sale of some of their creations to the American Cancer Society. To date, over $2000.00 has been donated!

I have 'met' some of the most generous and giving people I know through this team. Originally banded together in support of our friend and fellow etsian, Laura Slocum (who is now in REMISSION!!!!), the team has continued to grow and expand to include many others whose lives have been touched by cancer and who just want to help. I have been moved to tears by the stories, the caring, the support and the inspiration. It's an honor to be among them.

Wednesday Wonders ~ Etsy Project Embrace

wonder - a remarkable phenomenon; to be filled with admiration, amazement, or awe; to marvel

Something that I think is truly 'wonder'ful has happened in the last several weeks, something that raises a person out of themselves and inspires reaching out ~ let me tell you about it.

Fellow Esty shop owner and friend, Laura Slocum of lauraslocumpainted.etsy.com / creativelytangled.etsy.com has recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Laura is sharing her journey with spirit, more courage than I can grasp and great good humour...you can read more about it on her blog .

In support of Laura, and others facing the same walk, Esty Project Embrace has been launched by Etsy sellers and friends, to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Shop owners are donating part or all of the proceeds from their items. You can participate by selecting one or more of your items and tagging with etsyprojectembrace or purchasing an item found by typing etsyprojectembrace as your search term.

Kreativ Blogger Award...

Well... I've been awarded the Kreativ Blogger award by the lovely Kerrin of Sigmosaics from her wonderful blog! Now I need to list 7 things I love and then name 7 more people who I think deserve this award (get ready)!!! I'm not sure how I will narrow it to 7 (in either category!) but here goes...

Front Page ~ silver sage

It's been a busy week and I've sadly neglected my blog (among other things!) but I did make time to satisfy my addiction and create a couple of treasuries. This one made Etsy's front page this morning! Thanks to all for their amazing items ~ the talent...oh, the talent!

We are spending the weekend at our cottage. It is an absolutely fabulous spring day ~ 21C (that's around 70F), sun shining...off to the garden! Later all! xo

Wednesday Wonders ~ Sigmosaics

Mosaics, magnets, magical color... all found at Sigmosaics on etsy! I especially love her little houses and fabulous dishes ~perfect decorative pieces for your home or gift-giving. Kerrin's ability to mix her new and recycled bits of ceramic and pottery into these intricate designs simply amazes me ~ like a 1000 piece original puzzle !

This pretty pale green dish is one of my favorites!

Intricate dishes (the Japanese Hanamoyou is a work of art!), mosaic balls, a cool mannequin and this sweet watering can are just a sample of Kerrin's talent and beautiful pieces!
