Fredericton Fall Show was a Grand Success!

The weather was gorgeous for the 3rd Annual Fredericton Fall Craft Show on the Exhibition Grounds in the city this past weekend!  Many thanks to all who dropped by the booth  - it was wonderful to see and chat with regular and new customers and many friends and acquaintances that brought coffee, muffins and  a good giggle! Also a big thank you for those who took home some new pretties - many of you are inspiring me to get a start on my holiday shopping too!
I revamped my booth this year and thought you might enjoy a look - new fabric, backdrop and displays.  I was also excited to offer some of my new metalwork pieces for the first time.  A pair of copper honeybee earrings went home with a beekeeper who showed me photos of her hives - they produce and share delicious honey in Galloway, Ireland!

Thanks again!  See you on November 14 and 15 at Christmas at the Market!

Fredericton Fall Craft Show was a huge success!

It was a mild rainy weekend, perfect weather for Fredericton's Fall Craft Show, held at the Capital Exhibit Center this past weekend. The show was expanded to three days this year giving plenty of time for the lovers of handmade to visit and indulge themselves!
Friday and Saturday were like old home week!  It was wonderful to see and chat with friends, family and many loyal local customers who dropped by the show.

It was also great to catch up with several of my 'maker' friends that I haven't seen since last season and meet some new artisans too (hi Donna!). Wishing everyone a fabulous and busy holiday crafting season~

Many thanks to the those who began their holiday shopping or indulged themselves with one of my creations and also to the organizers for their hardwork and dedication to the handmade community right here in my hometown!

Fall Craft Show... and now I need a nap!

The first annual Fredericton Fall Craft Show was held this past weekend and what a show it was! We had a fabulous time-- the mood was relaxed, friendly and cheerful, we had a HUGE crowd (the organizer did a marvelous job of promotion and getting the word 'out there') and the talent was amazing. The Capital Exhibit Center was PACKED with super creative people offering a wonderfully wide range of art and crafted pieces. I was thrilled to have a corner booth (complete with electricity) in a very high traffic spot-- practically right next to the little onsite restaurant (which, by the way, made delicious homemade food :) And, I was able to use my new banner for the first time!

A big thank you to all who stopped by to visit, have a chat and take home something sparkly!

Finally-- a banner for my booth!

I've been doing craft shows for several years and have always wanted a professional banner for my booth...and I finally had one made! It's first adventure is next weekend at the Fredericton Fall Craft Show at the Capital Exhibit Center here in town -- I can't wait to set everything up!

Sunday at the Market

Sunday dawned sunny and bright, a perfect day for a Mother's Day Craft Show~ except most everyone wanted to enjoy the sunshine and were decidedly not in the mood for shopping, even for their mother! It was the perfect promise of long hot summer days to come...oh, well...we had a fun day chatting among ourselves and I had time to make several pair of earrings!
There were a few interested shoppers and Dune Earrings proved to be a popular pair (must have been all that sunshine and call of the beach:)

I am always so inspired and interested when I see photos of people's displays and workspaces that I thought I might share a few of mine. My fondness for vintage 'junk' and a rustic casual look are evident in these fantastic old wooden crates, a tiny window shutter from the 60's, a white milk glass pitcher, vintage cut glass doorpulls and lots of burlap. I love creating my displays using these character filled pieces. My husband has been the handy dandy builder of my earring racks and the great stand alone barnboard piece in the corner. Anything that doesn't match, I paint green. Add some fresh flowers and great lighting and presto....ready to go!
*****
So, at the moment, it's all in a heap in the basement. Yes, I can hear it calling...but I just started a great book and I'm sure there are new beads in the mail today...

Christmas at The Market

We have a wonderful old building in my hometown that is the venue for a handicrafts/farmer's market on Saturday mornings throughout the year. Almost everyone who visits Fredericton makes a visit to the Market while they're in town - it's a real event every week! Christmas at The Market is a local tradition that handmade enthusiasts anticipate every year. For many years, I was a shopper and brought home bags of unique treasures for gifts and holiday decoration (just count my snowmen!). I've been participating as a vendor for about 5 seasons now and just finished up this year's show last night. It was GREAT! There were tons of people in happy holiday humor! Many thanks to all who dropped by the booth to chat, giggle and take home a colorful, sparkly creation! And, just because, you know, I have nothing else to do, I changed my entire display for this show...I found this fabulous vintage silver tinsel Christmas tree and got all inspired! Here are some photos of my little spot..

Is this the funkiest little tree?
